About Our Children's Furniture

We are committed to providing fine furniture for children and having as little impact on the environment as possible in the process.

Construction
Our heirloom quality, custom-crafted furniture is all wood and hand built in America only after you order it.  It's made from sustainable wood, most often Sugar Pine, a fine grain wood that is durable but lightweight which reduces the cost of shipping.    The furniture is built to withstand normal wear and tear.  It isn't molded plastic (thank goodness!), so you may want to remind your children that it isn't for jumping on or beating with hammers - not that your children beat on anything with hammers, of course.

Some Bratt Decor and Little Colorado products contain MDF on top surfaces or end panels.   Our product descriptions will state if that's the case.

All products are warranted by the manufacturer or builder.    See our complete terms for further details on warranty.

Painting & Finish
All designs are original creations of the artist/co-owner, Hillary James, and she paints every piece without the use of patterns, stencils or paint pens or air brush, ensuring that your piece is like no other.    Using brushes to paint and varnish is more time consuming, but it is one reason for Mercy's sake furniture has such a distinctive depth and feel to it.

We apply 3 or more coats of varnish for durability.   All paints and varnish are water based and non-toxic and no- or low-odor.   Our varnish will withstand normal use and can be cleaned with a damp cloth (diaper wipes work great!) and wiped dry with a clean cloth.  Our furniture is not for outdoor use.

Lead Time
It can take 1 week to 6 weeks for us to receive smaller items (stepstools, table sets, bookcases, etc.) and 8 to 9 weeks to get large pieces (dressers, beds, etc.) from our suppliers/craftsmen.  Depending on the size of the item and complexity of the design, it can take 3 days to 2 weeks to paint since each layer of primer, paint, and varnish must dry completely before the next can be applied.    Shipping can range from 3 business days to 7 or 8 business days, again, depending on the size of the item as well as where it's being delivered.

Based on our 11+ years in business without a single return for a quality issue, we are certain you will believe the wait and the price are worth it.
